How Key Pools Work
Key pools contain API keys for one or more LLM providers. They can be assigned at different levels:
- Organization Default - Used by all facilities and users unless overridden
- Facility - Overrides organization default for a specific facility
- User - Overrides facility and org defaults for a specific user
When a request comes in, the system resolves which key pool to use by checking user → facility → organization in that order.
Security Note: API keys are encrypted at rest and never exposed in full. Only the last 4 characters are shown for identification.
